Who am I?

Sometimes I get kind of depressed and cry at the smallest of things.  Then, I think, the only reason I'm upset is because hormones are telling me to be sad.  Then, I get even more upset because, darnit, if I'm going to be miserable I want it to be my own fault, not my body's.  Sometimes I feel like I'm a slave to my own body.  But then I think no, I'm a slave to living.  Anything that lives is deals with this.  Everything we do is decided by whether or not our body or surroundings are capable of that happening.  For example, if I want to be able to go underwater for a really long time I would have to make sure that I had a way to breath.  Another example is that I can't give blood because I weigh too little and even if I could give blood, I would pass out while doing so because of this primal instinct my body has to pass out. But, what becomes me and what is left as being my body?  Because I am completely dependent on my body.  You could say my consciousness is who I am, but my consciousness is changed by the way the chemicals in my body react.  So, if you just took out my consciousness, I don't think I would have any emotions or feelings.
What I really want to know is, who am I?

Saved a life

Today, I walked to my neighbor's house to take care of their dogs while they were gone.  I let the dogs out and went to feed their beta fish, seeing as I had not fed the poor fish in a day and a half.  I walked into the room to find that the fish tank had fallen over and there was almost no water left.  I quickly ran over and grabbed the fish tank.  I peered in to find that the fish was completely still, lying on some rocks.  No movement.  He however did not look dead, he still had the bright colors of a live fish.  I swished some water over to him, with the small hope that I would not have to tell my neighbors their fish was dead.  He started flopping around a bit.  I thought maybe it was just the water, but no, he was alive!  I ran over to the sink and put more water in.  Yeah, he's staying in the bathtub now, not precariously sat atop a pile of papers.  Now, I saved a life today, did you?

Birthdays-continued?

Well, today was my birthday and no matter what, I find that on days that are set aside as special, for any reason, I get very upset. I think the reason for this is that I set high expectations for the days and those expectations aren't met. Now, I did not set high expectations for my birthday, I new better. I wasn't expecting awesome presents or a surprise or people singing to me down the halls. But I only got one "Happy Birthday." from anyone at school. Eventually I just told someone it was my birthday and as word spread around, people, who had already seen me that day, would say "Happy Birthday" to me and I would ask if my friend had told them and they would say "yes." I don't know. I think people remember things if they're either important or interesting, and I guess my birthday isn't either one.

What would you do if everyone forgot your birthday?

My Birthday!

I think birthdays are great.  I know they're just another day, that they're overrated, stressful, and often over-dramatic.  Often someone is left off of the invitation list and someone's feelings get hurt, but yet I still love them.  They're fun and exciting.  You get to make cakes and have fun with your friends.  My birthday is tomorrow, November 13th.  Now, if only I had been born on a Friday.

Right now, I haven't been writing much on here because of Nanowrimo, and plus, I'm going on vacation to Maui for 10 days.  I am losing 10 days for nanowrimo.  That's 16,000 words I have to make up.  So stressful, and I'm already behind.  I also have to make up work for all the classes I'm going to miss.

I've also gotten into music a lot recently, you know I listen to it while I write.  I've been ashamedly listening to Glee covers, unashamedly listening to Passion Pit and William Beckett.  Music really helps me right, otherwise I get sidetracked by watching snipits of Whose Line Is It Anyway on Youtube.

Where would you go, if you could go anywhere right now?

Background Music

I was watching the new movie by Disney today Wreck It Ralph in the cinema, and after it was over, I realized how much I love the music at the end of some movies.  Mostly, those movies that are completely unrealistic where everyone ends up happy and everything goes right.  I just love that music.  I don't know if it's because it is at the end of the movie or if it's just good music.  Because whenever I listen to the music again after that it is never as good.

Also, I love listening to music while doing everyday things.  You just feel like you have your own background music.  Especially if like the beat matches what you're doing.

By the way, Wreck It Ralph was a very good movie.  I got really excited when they had a little Skrillex being the DJ at the Fix It Felix's 30th anniversary party.

What is your favorite thing about the movies?

NANOWRIMO!!!!!

AHHHH!  So.... Nanowrimo just started and I need to get started, I've already started a few beginnings but I'm going to try something else.  I don't think I'll make it to 50,000 words but I sure will try.  I am doing so many things this month I just don't think I will.

Now for those of you who are lost, hello, Nanowrimo is National Novel Writing Month where you try to write a novel in a month that is at least 50,000 words.  I failed miserably last year but I am going to try hard this year.  Just to figure out what my book is going to be about.  You should try too.  It doesn't matter how bad the book is no one has to read it except you.  I think the feeling at the end will just be great though.  Having finished a whole novel.   Now, just to see what the book will turn out to be.  I hope you'll join me on my journey.

Are you participating in Nanowrimo this year?

Dès le premier jour...

I love music.  I listen to music constantly.  I haven't had a favorite band in years because I thought having a favorite band meant that you didn't like music enough to not have favorites.  Kind of like how if you have a favorite child you're a bad parent.  But I have a favorite band right now.  I have never found a band where I liked so many of their songs.  The band is Panic At The Disco.  I just love almost every single song they play.  They have started getting me interested in writing my own music.  I love how their lyrics tell a story and the music fits to the words not the other way around.  A lot of times I feel like they just make the music sound catchy and then throw in a bunch of lyrics afterwards that fit with the music's pattern.  My favorite song by them right now is Nearly Witches with a close second and third by Ready To Go and Hurricane, respectively.

Another interest of mine recently is solitaire.  I have been playing every chance I get during French.  As soon as I'm done with French, I turn on Panic At The Disco and start playing solitaire.  But not just regular klondike, I've been learning how to play all the different kinds.  I don't even know if I remember how to play klondike anymore I've been playing so many other versions.

Do you have a favorite band?  What is it?

Procrastination FTW!

I am such a huge procrastinator instead of doing homework I went to Ultimate Frisbee, instead of doing homework I'm writing a blog. However, I am a somewhat organized procrastinator, like I give specific times when I will do it.  Like I told myself I would do it on Sunday, now its Sunday.  I don't want to do it.  But I will.  At Ultimate Frisbee there was this cute random little girl who was there.  She was awesome we painted her nails black and orange and she painted one of my hands black and orange, but she didn't have time to do the other one before she had to go home.  Today's post is brought to you by randomness.  I want to make some food, but I have to do homework.  I put my hair in a pony tail but then it was hurting but I didn't want to take it out because it would look crazy but I took it out so my head doesn't hurt as much anymore.  I wish I had closer friends.  I have quite a good number of friends but I don't have any really close ones.  Even me and my best friend don't really share secrets or things.  I don't know maybe I'm subconsciously pushing people away.  Maybe I should talk to strangers more.  That's how one of my friends makes friends, yelling at random strangers.  I should go do homework.  But I can't set up this computer with the printer and I lost my flash drive so I can't put work on that. Oh well I'll figure it out. Being a teenager is weird, but enjoyable.

College already?

Since entering high school I have noticed many differences, but one thing that isn't constantly talked about but is made very obvious is that we should be doing everything to get into college.  You should join this club so that you can get volunteer hours to get into college, you should be in activities so college will pick you out of others with good grades, do it this way so that you'll do it that way on your tests so you can get into college. This week in all of the English classes they have the counselors going around to try to give us direction into where we're going with our lives.  Out of my whole class I am the only one with no idea.  Everyone had some idea maybe an unrealistic idea but an idea nonetheless. I have been given the blessing and the curse of being pretty good at everything.  I'm good with the arts, maths, sciences, athletics, culinary, mechanics, pretty much everything.  Most people are really good at some things but then bad at others.  This can help them decide what to be.  I also get bored very easily.  I think that if I got a job I enjoyed that within a month I would get bored with it and want to try something else.  I just don't know.  I really enjoy traveling and music.      All I really know is what I don't want to be.  I'm just a Freshman I know, but you have to think of these things before its too late.  I won't worry too much about it though.  I'm a confused teenager who thinks a lot and gets worried about her future.  Oh well.

Question: What is your passion?

Religious..sort of?

I have always questioned my religion.  I'm a Presbyterian, that is a Christian if you didn't know.  But recently, I seem to question it more and more thinking, who am I to act as if I really know what's going on.  I think I might be a Christian Agnostic, if that's a thing.  I think there is a God but I just really don't know.  I'm not Atheist because I don't want to say there is no God, but I'm also not sure if I'm a complete Christian either because I can't really say that there is a God who does this and this and this.  I just really don't know what to think right now.  I have always been a very open-minded person, for example I don't want to be a Republican or a Democrat because I think both are too extreme in their ideas.  I think they need to open up their minds and think a little more.  I don't know, arg.

So, what are your thoughts on religion?  Don't be hateful please.

School

With school just starting I had to write something about it.  High School is a very interesting place, you have kids that look about five and kids that look about thirty.  At school they call me Batman because there is another girl with the exact same name as me, and seeing as she was on this Earth first, she gets to keep her name and I get a new one.  So, my brother called me Batman in front of her and the name stuck.  I actually really enjoy the name, I even wear batman shirts every once in a while.  However, Robin is dead, because Robin was a noob and died in a car accident.  Also, everyone says I should be Batwoman, and I always tell them no, because the man in Batman is used as the meaning of the human species. I really like school, I have English with a very worrisome old woman, Biology with a very nice lady who looks kind of like Katherine Heigl, Applied Tech with a short chubby woman who insists that we will learn something new, band with an awesome guy who for his birthday we are getting him a Russian mail order bride, French online, but with a very crazy but nice supervisor who's husband my parents hate,  Geometry with a Hispanic woman who I like but everyone who has taken her class insists that she is awful, and P.E. with the husband of my former English teacher who gave me a detention within the first week of eight grade.  For clubs, I am probably going to join key club, art club, and maybe debate.  But I don't think I will do debate because I am bad at talking in front of people, plus I have like no free time as it is.

So question of the day,  what is your nickname that you have/had in school?

French Maybe?

I'm taking French this year instead of choir in school online.  Now, I am very interested in foreign language but I have never learnt a language.  For a while about four years ago I tried to learn French and for about the past year I tried to learn Japanese.  But I have never finished.  It may be because I have never been in an actual class, I have always tried to learn by myself.  Let me tell you, it is hard to learn a language by yourself. First of all there is no one to talk to, and that's what you're learning how to do. Secondly you don't have people watching you progress, so it feels like there is no reason to even be doing it.  When I was learning Japanese do you know how many people I could talk to because of learning Japanese, no one.  Because I live in a small town and absolutely no one knows Japanese except a few Mormons who went on a mission trip to Japan. However, with French it will be different.  I actually know some people who speak French.  So I can actually talk to people.  I really think that is a main reason why Americans don't learn languages.  Because in an ignorant sense, why should we?  We live in a huge country that is only surrounded by two countries.  It isn't uncommon for someone in America to never have to go to another country, or even think about it.  In Europe all the countries are quite close and its almost like going from state to state in America.  So there really doesn't seem to be a reason for Americans to know other languages if they aren't going to travel.  I am going to travel, a lot, so that's why I should learn some common languages. I personally think everyone should know at least two languages, but that just isn't going to happen with some people.  Like my mom for instance, she has only to been to Canada and they mostly speak English.  I don't think my mom is ever going to go to another country so why would she need to know a language.  I don't know.  So the question of the day is..

Why should someone know another language, other than their own?

She Stole My Heart- the unofficial and likely to be changed title

Yesterday I started writing a book and I'm really excited.  I hope I will actually finish it.  I have never finished writing a book. I just run out of things to say, and only write like a page before I give up.

The book is about a man named Sebastian Enhart, who is 217 and wants to die.  His wife stole his heart when he was 27 and didn't want him to die.  She was selfish and never wanted to live a day without him.  So now that she is dead Sebastian doesn't know if he will ever die. He is trying to find a way to bring her soul back so she can give him permission to die.

I really like the plot line.  I got it from a friend of mine who after we play Ultimate Frisbee he always says he feels like dying, and I always tell him that he can't because I didn't give him permission.  Eventually after about the second week of doing this he said, "hey, that would be a good plot for a TV show."  So I figured I might as well right a book about it.  I really hope I can finish it.  I'm not a very good writer but I'm better than I used to be. Like once I wrote like a paragraph for a book and then didn't finish because I didn't know where to go with it. I thought I wrote it really poorly, but then looking back on it, if it were a real book I might read it.

Question:  What would you like to write a book about?

Teenage Rant

I am always easily annoyed and upset at my parents it seems, but especially after I've been with my friends for a while.  I'm not sure why.  If it's because I realize that my parents act just as immature as my friends do, or maybe because my friends better understand me than my parents.  Both of which are true, but I'm still not sure what does it.  I find that when I'm with my friends or even family, but outside of anything we own, I'm happy, energetic, motivated, optimistic. But when with my parents, or at our house, or in the car, I am sad, unmotivated, lazy, or pessimistic. I don't know what to do or how to help this.  Maybe I just need to get out of the house more.  I also have a fiery temper and my parents are kind of immature so my parents don't really know what to do.  Especially my mom, to me it seems that she always finds the exact things to say to set me off.  My parents, when having a conversation with me, will continue talking and never let me talk.  When there is finally a gap in the conversation I will say something but then they often say I interrupted, even though they interrupt me quite a lot.  They often don't listen to what I say and when they do they take it to the extreme to make fun, especially my dad.  Like I will tell him I don't like it when he pokes me and then for like a week if he even touches me he'll start apologizing and announcing, " Oh, I'm so sorry I know you don't like it when I do that."  He says it in a way to suggest that he is making a point out of how stupid my request was.
Also, if I were to tell him any of this he would make fun of me for having feelings.  Both of my parents do this, when I come home from being gone for a while they'll say things about how I'm never home, but I know for a fact that they do nothing differently versus when I'm there or not.  When I'm there my mom is making dinner or watching TV and my dad is either on his nook watching movies or watching TV.  They don't seem to do much else ever.  I know they aren't "bad" parents and I shouldn't complain.  But would it hurt to pay attention to me a little better and for them to try to understand me?  I don't know if its my fault for being hormonal and temperamental, or theirs for not being serious enough and not paying attention.

What do you think makes teenagers and parents not get along?

Marching Band Camp

It seems that school is starting soon, and with that band camp is starting.  It just started today and it is my first time ever going.  It is really fun but also difficult.  Standing all day and marching can get tiring, especially when it is followed afterwards by a bike ride with my best friend.  Later, all of us went for ice cream.  One of the boys made a girl cry because he kept throwing building blocks at her.  Though we're still not sure if she was actually crying.  That was pretty much my whole day.  At one point we played pass the Suvi.  One of my male friends princess carried me around the room.  He then continued to pass me to other students.  At one point he tried to hand me off to someone and the guy said " I can't, no, I can't.  It's against my religion."  Now, I don't want to sound ignorant but I think he may have been Mormon. Can anyone tell me what religion would be against carrying girls.  Then, of course we played it later.  Before that the same male friend gave me a piggy back ride and when I jumped onto his back and my legs wrapped around him, I accidentally kicked him in the (I can't think of a better word) "male parts."  He said it wasn't too bad.  I always wonder what that feels like.  I just read some articles about what it feels like.  It sounds terrible.  I did that to boys when I was younger.  I don't think I ever will again.  Unless he is really awful.  Last time I kicked a boy there I was in the 5th grade.  He wouldn't speak to me for weeks.  I felt really bad.  I just read that giving birth on the pain scale is 95 and getting hit there is a 3000.  But that humans can only feel pain up to 85 so it feels about the same?  But when guys get hit it feels numb because of how much pain that the body is experiencing.  Can anyone tell me if this is correct.  I read this stuff hoping that it is right, but then I just don't know.

So the question is if you had to describe to a girl what it felt like getting hit "there", what would you say?

The Evil Kakuro

I was in Barnes and Noble looking at the section of Sudoku, everyone know what that is right? Anyway, I was looking for something different because I don't think Sudoku is that hard and I wanted to try something new.  I found on the bottom shelf something called Kakuro. Kakuro is a mix between Sudoku and a crossword puzzle. I of course, thought I can't get the white belt book that will be much too boring. I'm a pretty smart girl, right? So I got the black belt version.  In the beginning it says we have provided 6 warm up puzzles to get you started and then 144 full-sized puzzles that get harder as the book progresses.  As of now I have not even completed a warm up. I should have gotten a simpler book, but of course I can't do that.  Since, then I have played on my iPod and beaten a few but I can't beat a single puzzle in this book.  If I can't beat the first page what makes me think I can get through the book. I don't know what to do.  I'm normally really good at these but there doesn't seem to be any way to get past it.  You should check these out especially if you like Sudoku. I have literally gotten headaches from these.

Just now I went to the library to get a book.  You may know it, "A Clockwork Orange."  I heard about it once when I went to the movies and before even the previews start they have commercials and so they had a puzzle and the answer was "A Clockwork Orange."  I asked my dad about it and he told me, but I still didn't really get it.  Anyway I was interested mostly in the name so I finally went to the library and got it.  I don't know if I'll like it, I haven't even started.  My dad seems to think I won't like it.  Maybe I'll tell you about it later.

Recently I've procured an obsession for Adam Lambert.  I don't know why and I can't help it but I just love him. I love his music and his voice.  My favorite songs by him are "Fever", "Never Close Our Eyes" and "For Your Entertainment."  Why is it the only guys who seem to dress fashionably are gay and British guys.  Of which I know neither.  That seems weird.  I never really noticed that I don't think I have ever met a gay or British guy, except for maybe this one substitute I had once who rolled up the hems on his pants and wore vests.

So tell me in the comments what is your secret obsession?

Hair

I have had long hair forever, and I mean that.  I have never had short hair.  I also have this thing where I have to do something drastic every once in a while.  This will probably be a problem eventually.  So I am going to get my hair cut short.  I think it will be awesome.  I'm kind of worried about what people will say. I'm not the type of person to care what people think, but, I don't want people to hate it. I know a lot of people who love my long hair and will dislike it when they see it cut. But oh well, if you just go around trying to make everyone happy you'll never get anything done.  I want a sort of bob with it slightly longer in the front.  Just below the chin.  Right now my hair is what some people call an Asian mullet or a high-fashion mullet, trust me it looks better than it sounds. It ends just above my belly button.  I also might dye it eventually.  I haven't dyed it completely ever and I think that would be fun.  I've only ever gotten highlights or dyed ends.   I'm hoping I can send my hair to charity.  I know its long enough, but I have layers so they might not take it.

What's the weirdest/worst hairstyle you've ever rocked?

BABIES!

I just got back from my Grandma's cabin.  We stayed for two days.  It was very pretty and wonderful, though I don't know if most kids from my generation would have been able to stand it. No cell service or wifi.  I didn't communicate or see anyone from my age group the whole time I was there. When we came back home and drove through Taco Time to get some food, it struck me that the girl taking my order was the first teenager I had seen in two days! Adults don't understand this, because they're boring, but its weird not talking to people you identify with. Often while at the cabin I would be listening to the adults and notice how foreign they are.  They could all sit around for hours talking about medication, menopause, and fishing. Occasionally someone would take interest in me. Asking the average "adult to teenager" questions: What grade are you in? How many kids are in your school? How's your summer been?  You know what I mean.

I, vow that when I am old I will ask teenagers questions that aren't so completely expected and impersonal.

I could literally phrase out in my head how I would answer their question before they even asked it.

I love old fashioned names, I also love Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy, so if I have a child I think I would name him/her something old. Here are some of my favorites:

Girls:                  Boys:
Anastasia           Augustus
Celeste              Chester
Charlotte            Damon
Corinne              James
Cynthia              Nile
Emmeline           Palmer
Estelle                Parker
Evangeline         Spencer
Hazel                 Julian
Jesse                 William
 Lucinda
Viola
Zella

What would you name your child?

News. (fun)

I actually do catch up on the news sometimes, mostly from sxephil, but haven't been recently.  So I'll have to do some research.

In science news, on July 4th the Higgs Boson was discovered. A subatomic particle that was the missing key to understanding pretty much all we know about the universe.
Also, on August 5th the Mar's rover Curiosity landed.  They have photos out if you want to see and they say it was a near perfect landing.

News blah blah blah, sorry I just can't stand doing homework during the summer.  I really don't care about the news that much when put into boring text. Oh well, just look it up for yourself, watch sxephil, ask your parents, or even *gasp* read the newspaper.

So, recently me and my best friend have been trying to work out more.  We have been going on bike rides around town for an hour and then working out and stretching after that. I enjoy working out but I never have had the motivation when I'm alone.  I think this will be good for me.

School starts the 29th :( I mean I like school but the summer really flew by. I know people always say that, but this time it really did.  I'm excited for high school, there is so much more to do there than in middle school. I haven't gotten my schedule yet, but band camp starts the 20th and I am pumped.  I love marching band it looks so fun. I play clarinet in band if you didn't know.

You guys should help me come up with things to write about. I need to have topics or I'm just going to start rambling about the most random and boring things.  So for the question of the day:

What was your first stuffed animal and what was its name?

Websites Are Just Great

I just started this and number 5 on the list is links to blogs I like. Since I just started I don't know very many blogs. So instead I'm just going to post websites I like.  Maybe you'll enjoy them too.

http://nerdfighteria.org/
Is basically just a list of all the other sites a like.  It links to almost all of the nerdfighter websites.  I have pages on http://nerdfighters.ning.com/ and http://yourpants.org/. It's nice to know that there is a whole awesome community there to help me out whenever I need it.

http://artymessetc.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/the-eye-of-storm.html
This is the only blog I know anything about.  It's hard to find blogs I like.  It is by a fellow nerdfighter and is written very well.  You should check it out.

http://www.youtube.com/
I love Youtube. I have a Youtube account if you want to watch. I play the piano on it.http://www.youtube.com/user/SuviLove?feature=mhee I haven't uploaded in a while, mostly because its summer, but I plan to soon.

http://www.deviantart.com/
I like deviant art because I'm and artist and I like to show my art.  Plus I really like looking at other people's artwork.  It makes me want to branch out and try new things.

http://www.tumblr.com/dashboard
I like tumblr also, but not as much. It's kind of confusing and full of hipsters.

http://pinterest.com/
I really like pinterest. I get kind of hooked on it but I suppose that is ok.  It gives me lots of ideas for things to do. Though right now I having some problems with it so I can't post my pinterest.

http://www.wtfshouldidotoday.com/
The reason I like this website is because I am easily bored.  I need someone telling me what to do, this kind of helps with that.

https://www.google.com/
Google is amazing.  It is so simple but helpful.  Without it i'm sure I wouldn't have straight A's. I have tried to do research just using and it is hard and sometimes impossible.  Almost all of the knowledge in books can be found on the internet, but not all of the knowledge of the internet can be found in books. Seriously what would we do without Google?

Pictures!

Today is day number 4 on the list. So pictures but I suppose these are more quotes on top of pictures, but those are my favorite kind.

All of these are John Green quotes.  I love his books, you should really read them if you haven't.
I like to think that the quote above is true, or at least that its true for someone.

This is a play on the nerdfighter acronym DFTBA and the Keep Calm and Carry On poster

Don't Forget To Be Awesome is my motto.  As long as you follow this simple rule , you should do great.

A quote from The Fault In Our Stars. It is my favorite book by John Green.

Quote said by Augustus Waters in The Fault In Our Stars.
I like to think that I'm more complicated than I am, but I'm actually pretty simple.
I hope that I can become a complex and wonderful person, but, who's to say what that is?

Review: Wreck This Journal

I'm back and today is number 3 of About's 20 Ideas For Writing A Blog Post. Today's idea is a review. I'm a very critical person so maybe I'll be good at this.

Review: Wreck This Journal

Wreck this journal is an interactive book and on every page it tells you to do something different to the book. The warning in the front of the book says: During the process of this book you will get dirty. You may find yourself covered in paint, or any other number of foreign substances. You will get wet. You may be asked to do things you question. You may grieve for the perfect state that you found the book in. You may begin to see creative destruction everywhere. You may begin to live more recklessly.

Since I have gotten this book, I have bought almost all of her other books. The pages definitely make me question myself.  When it told me to take it in the shower and the cover fell off, I was seriously worried the book was going to disintegrate before I was finished.

One of the first instructions was to crack the spine.  I was unsure, but I did as I was told.  Since this book, I've come to think slightly less about keeping books in pristine condition. Before I wouldn't even think about writing in a book or dog-earing a page. This doesn't mean I'm just going to start writing all over books or ripping them up. However, I might occasionally write in a corner or in the front.

I highly recommend this book to everyone. It makes you look at the world from a different angle. The pages tell you to do everything from chewing on the page to cutting up the pages to just ripping them out and playing golf with the crumpled paper. I really have enjoyed this book and will continue to, I'm not finished. I am sure after I'm done I will look at this destroyed book on my shelf as a fond memory and a great learning experience.

I would give it 7.5 astronauts out of 8.

I hope you think about getting this book because I love it.  I got back yesterday from my trip.  It was great, I saw a peacock and lots of little frogs that were the color of dried mud and about the size of a quarter. I picked one up it was super cute peeking out from between my fingers. We swam lots and ate at a lot of fancy cultural restaurants. Today's question to you is, where do you like to be the most in the world?

How to Find A Good Book To Read

Yesterday I wondered what to write about, so now I will follow About's 20 ideas for a blog post.  Today is number 2 and they say I should write a how to.  Now, I'm going to have to think about what to do a how to on.  I am not a professional at anything, I know how to do some interesting things, but those things need lots of explanation. Hmmmmm.

How To Find A Good Book To Read
(I doubt this method is encouraged by parents or teachers)

Step 1: Find a book store or Library
If you go with the book store route, find a cheap bookstore with used books or bring coupons. If you go with the library, get a library card.

Step 2: Look around
Find a section that interests you, really, a good book is completely dependent on the reader. I may think Harry Potter is a good book while you may hate it, but who would?

Step 3: Judge books by their cover
I know everyone says not to, but do it.  I always find my best books by judging the cover. However, not all books with good covers are good. Just look around if you see a book with a cover you like pick it up and look at it. I like the ones with really bright covers.

Step 4: Read the back
If it doesn't have a summary on the back but just a bunch of praise from random people, look in the front cover a summary may be there. Also, look on the back inside the cover.  If you have still not found a summary, just read the first paragraph. If you like it, you have two (legal) options.

Step 5: Buy the book (Option 1)
If you do this you will have to pay money, but you get to keep the book.  Take the book home and read it, if you liked it, good for you, you have learned how to find a good book. If you did not like the book try to sell it for as much many as you can and try again, using the money you got from selling the book.  Or you could try returning the book but I don't know for sure if that would work.

Step 5: Read the book at the store (Option 2)
I don't know if all stores will let you do this, but if you are able and they have chairs at the store, or you are okay with sitting on the floor, read it at the store. It will save you money and let you decide if you like it. Just start reading it, and if you really like it buy it or just continue to read at the store.  If it is a long book and you can't read it all at once, write what page you're on on your hand or a piece of paper and come back later.

Well I hope you enjoyed that. You now know how to find a good book.  So in the comments, what is your favorite book of all time?  I don't think I will be writing until at least Thursday, I'm going on a camping trip with my friend.

Top 10 Favorite Things To Do In The Summer

Today is Sunday and so I went to church. I'm a Presbyterian Christian, and just in case you're wondering I'm not a judgmental Jesus freak.  I always take the little kids down during the message so their parents don't have to try to take care of them during church.  I don't know where I was going with this nothing interesting happened.  Anyway I'm taking care of two different people's dogs right now.  The first two are a Dachshund and a big reservation dog.  You know what that means if you live near a Native American reservation.  The other two are a Border Collie and a Golden Retriever/Chow. At 2:30 I'm going to be going to Ultimate Frisbee.  I love Ultimate Frisbee it is my favorite thing to do right now.  But it is only on Sunday so I should find some other way to get my exercise during the week.
This is how it goes with everything I've ever written.  At first I'm full of ideas but then after a couple pages of writing, I can't think of anything to write about.  Yesterday I watched Easy A.  I really liked that movie it was great.  I love Emma Stone, she is my favorite actress.  I just looked up what to write a blog about.  It has 20 topics so I suppose I'll start with number one so here it is.

#1 Lists
Apparently people love lists, so you guys must love me.  Here is my top 10 favorite things to do in the summer.

#1 Ultimate Frisbee
I love Ultimate Frisbee because you get exercise, but it is so fun you don't really notice how much work you're actually doing. It's kind of like football or maybe closer to soccer, except with a Frisbee and less violent.  I have always been good at sports, but I don't like formal teams mostly because I am a nerd and look like I can't play sports so no one lets me do anything.

#2 Listen to Music
Obviously in school I'm not allowed to listen to music so during the summer I listen to music constantly. Really the only time I'm not is either when I'm playing music or talking to someone.  You could listen in the car, writing on a blog, playing video games, singing, cooking, or really anytime you can.

#3 Sing/Dance
Whenever my mom is gone, I'm actually quite shy, I just turn on music super loud and sing.  Occasionally checking to see if my mom is home. Dancing is also fun along with singing.  I sometimes record myself singing and realize how bad I am.

#4 Plant Something
I did this and it was so much fun planting things and watching them get big.  But then I dug up a patch of ground in our yard and planted stuff there. The earth in my yard I'm sure is perfect for ants to live in and horrible for plants to live.  The ants ate up all my plants and the plants that didn't get eaten just died.  I'm kind of sad.  But I still have two watermelons that I AM NOT planting in the ground.  Hopefully they'll make me some watermelons.

#5 Get A Job
I did NOT do this one.  But it is a good idea.  Last summer I got a job with my dad's boss as a tractor driver.  It was sooooooo boring.  I am not doing that again.  Though it did make good money.  In like a week I made $800.  But that went towards my trip to DC. I probably will have to get a job somewhat soon, because I'm fixing up my car and I will have to pay for gas and things.

#6 Make Clothes
Learn how to sew or just cut up shirts to make them different.  Though I highly recommend learning to sew, I can't even imagine not knowing how to sew.  Make dresses, shirts, swimming suits, skirts,  pants, shorts, tank tops.  I made my friend a stuffed Gir for her birthday, she absolutely loved it. I also made a companion cube pillow for my brother.  Knowing how to sew can be very helpful in present making.

#7 Go Swimming
I actually haven't been feeling like swimming at all this summer, I don't know why.  But usually I do, so you should do that.  It will get you out of the house and cool you down. Or learn how to swim, my mother is like 48 and still doesn't know how to swim.

#8 Go On A Road trip
I love road trips! Go on one, I don't care where you go. They are super fun and you can see all sorts of things. Play games in the car, crank up the music, sing poorly, eat.  They're is something I just adore about the possibility of going anywhere.  That's why I love my driver's permit so much.  I can go anywhere, as long as I kidnap a parent to go with me.

#9 Climb Trees
Go outside for Pete's sake and climb a tree.  I am going to climb trees for my whole life. I love seeing how high I can get and being able to see everything from a different angle.  Really just go climb anything.  I also love being on roofs. I love how you can see everything moving and being busy, however, the space around you is completely calm.

#10 Read A Book
I read so much.  When I was in about the 7th grade I was seriously worried that I was going to run out of good books to read.  I don't think that will ever happen.  Read anything, I read mostly novels but try to change it up. I read science books, magazines, how to books, and anything else that seems interesting.  A love of books can really help you get somewhere in life.

So I have a question for you if you're even in existence.  If you had to marry an inanimate object, what would you marry?

Quotes & Quotes & Quotes

I don't know how often I'll be posting, but I think at least for this week I'll try to write once a day. But maybe not, I'm going on a trip later this week.  I love quotes they make me want to read and think about the world and be interesting enough so that someday I will say something quotable.  I think mostly this week will be about me because I'm selfish and I just started but who knows maybe I'll be selfish all the time.  As you can see my page's background is covered in quotes.  All from John Green's book "The Fault In Our Stars." I love reading John's books they make me think more about the world. They also make me wish I was more like the people in his books, but I still have a lot of time (hopefully) so I can still be whoever I want to be. But I'm almost completely sure that that person is going to be me.

“Maybe our favorite quotations say more about us than about the stories and people we're quoting.”
-John Green

“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.”
-John Lennon

"I think my melodies are superior to my lyrics."
-Freddie Mercury

"Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand."
-Albert Einstein

“You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world...but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices.”
-John Green

“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
-Albert Einstein

“Modern paintings are like women: You'll never enjoy them, if you try to understand them.”
-Freddie Mercury

"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."
-Abraham Lincoln

"Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light."
-Albus Dumbledore

"Common looking people are the best in the world: that is the reason the Lord makes so many of them."
-Abraham Lincoln

“Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.”
― Dr.Seuss
“if you love two people at the same time, choose the second. Because if you really loved the first one, you wouldn't have fallen for the second.”
― Johnny Depp

"Who wants to live forever?"
-Freddie Mercury

“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”
- Mae West

“France and the whole of Europe have a great culture and an amazing history. Most important thing, though, is that people there know how to live! In America they've forgotten all about it. I'm afraid that the American culture is a disaster.”
― Johnny Depp

“It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not.”

"Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves."
-Albert Einstein

“Some people don't understand the promises they're making when they make them," I said.

"Right, of course. But you keep the promise anyway. That's what love is. Love is keeping the promise anyway.”
-John Green

I am probably going to add more quotes as I find them.  Write in the comments what you think I should write about in my blog.  I don't know what to write about, maybe I could do rants or reviews or just plain out writing about what I'm thinking. I don't know maybe it will come to me.

101 Things to Do Before You're Old and Boring

I started blogging because a book told me to.  I've always like writing but was never very good at it so I hope this helps.  The book is called 101 Things to Do Before You're Old and Boring and # 36 says to Start a blog, so I did. I'm not going in order so to me it is actually my third page.  My other two pages told me to make a paper crane and help save the planet. My mom recycles a lot so that page was easy.  Anyway so I'll tell you about me so you know who I am.
I'm a 14 year old girl, 5', 110 lbs, light brown hair, blue/grey eyes, pale skin, wears glasses, who lives in the United States. I am a huge nerdfighter and musician.  I have attempted to learn Japanese in the past and am currently attempting French so if anyone wants to help with that I'm doing better than I did in Japanese.  But still "Je suis nul a Francais." I play many instruments, these are in order that I learned them piano, clarinet, drums (sort of), bass guitar, acoustic guitar (sort of), violin, and trombone (still learning).  I am in band and also choir but I think I might quit choir next year.  I am a freshman this year and I have a driving permit, which is definitely fun.  I don't have a boyfriend, my parents won't let me, but even if I could I probably wouldn't. I'm taking biology and also geometry.  I like math and science a lot so I think I'll have fun in high school.  Most people don't like school but for the most part I like it. The only reason I don't is because it takes up most of the day. I have the potential to become a major gamer but I've kind of suppressed it because it takes up way too much time and with little productivity. When I was slightly younger I was on the computer at least 5-7 hours a day, and that was during the school year. So I quit cold turkey didn't go on the computer for like a year then slowly started back up and now go on the computer at most 2 hours a day at the least, I'm not on it for days.  Though I am on my iPod touch a lot....

I'm just going to start listing my favorite things you don't have to read this paragraph as it may be incredibly boring.
